Privacy Statement

This privacy statement describes how Wonitrol collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit our website or submit a price estimate request. We process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian privacy legislation.

1. Who processes your data?

The data controller is Wonitrol, Stationsstraat 25, 1651 Lot (Beersel), Belgium, company and VAT number BE 0425.272.744. For questions you can reach us at info@wonitrol.be or 02 378 18 41.

2. What data do we collect?

We collect only the data you fill in yourself in the request form: name, email address, phone number, licence plate, a short description of the damage, the name of your insurer, whether you are at fault, your preferred contact channel, and the photos you upload. In addition, we keep a hashed IP address for anti-abuse purposes. This data is needed to assess your vehicle and the damage: without it we cannot give you a price estimate.

3. What do we use it for?

Your data is used solely to handle your price estimate request, to communicate with you about the possible repair, and to safeguard the security of our services. The lawful basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract. The hashed IP address is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) to prevent abuse of the form. We send no marketing and do not share your data for commercial purposes.

4. How long do we keep it?

Price estimate requests and the associated photos are kept for a maximum of 365 days. After that they are automatically deleted. If your request leads to an actual repair, the statutory retention periods apply to the corresponding accounting documents.

5. Who do we share it with?

We use the following processors and recipients, each under a data processing agreement or their own privacy terms: Resend (email delivery), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot detection on the form), Plausible (cookieless visitor statistics) and our own server in the EU. The map on the visit page only loads after you choose to load it; if you do, Google acts as a separate controller for that connection. Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, this takes place under a European Commission adequacy decision (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or under standard contractual clauses, a copy of which you can request from us. We do not sell your data and do not share it for any purpose other than handling your request.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and you may object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Where processing relies on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. We make no automated decisions producing legal effects and we do not carry out profiling. You can exercise these rights via info@wonitrol.be; we reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels (contact@apd-gba.be, dataprotectionauthority.be).
